its unironically not a problem when japanese or whites or indonacians do it bc its completely predictable. it becomes a problem when browns or blacks in EN do it because everyone is gonna be shocked more or less by the gap between their anime avatar and their roommate and becomes controversial. vtubers shouldnt show irl identity. it doesnt matter at all, isnt necessary at all.

When a chuuba has to get permission or confirmation on something and has to go through the staff, sure. But if the creative director or someone else up the chain wants to make that kind of decision, they just have to email everyone and it's done. They don't need to consult anyone, it can be done in a day.

I agree that this is the reason for it. Some of the Vtubers in your company showing hands puts pressure on the others to do it. The brown women don't want to expose how brown they are, so it puts them in a difficult spot.
I like seeing beautiful white Vtuber hands though, so my solution would be to not hire brown women in the first place.
