>>63401327Tracing isn't inherently bad. It's not bad when you just want to practice anatomy or reference a pose, and if you post it online, you can say or show it was traced. However, it IS bad when you don't make it clear you've done it (if it's popular enough people will recognize the similarities and call you out for it, plus if you traced something as an artist "once", who says you haven't done it throughout your career) and/or if you're selling commissions or commercial art based on art you've traced (aka you're getting money off of a base/composition/maybe even colors or shading style too that you didn't create, and without permission)
Also, pretty sure what she's doing is like an actual base like those you find in deviantart to make your own drawings based on that. It's a fun prompt, comes from the source itself, and it's also like millions of people making variations on an existing meme, it's not hypocritical.
