Talent is more than just being able to sing without shitting yourself.Yes it's not linear but if you're unable to show that talent in the recruitment then it's basically a shot in the dark for the staff, they're not going to sit there and watch 10 hours of each candidate in the hopes that they "will eventually get better", qualities that are easier to highlight are more desired since it's like killing two birds with one stone.
