Vtubers are running the modern equivalent of a variety talkshow. They talk a bit, then they have a skit, then they talk a bit more, then they play a video game, then they talk at the end. It's the same formula that has been done since Johnny Carson.
Picture, if you're capable of it, having to run a talkshow in front of thousands of people without any skits, without any props, just you talking about yourself every stream 2-3+ hours a week, not even able to make something and bring it in without getting the permission of someone who doesn't watch your show.
That's the situation Hololive and Niji are in. Ame made Amebee with her own time, and effort, to be used on her stream. Hololive said she can't even do that. So she can't make anything, she can't bring anything in, she can't do anything other than play the same games everyone else in the company plays and talk with the stock model she was given, about herself, for 3 hours each week. There's literally nobody on Earth important or interesting enough to make consistent a show out of that.
Basically, please put a little bit of mental power into this even if you hate vtubers and streamers. Johnny Carson was a rich man but I wouldn't want his job if it came with the restrictions Hololive had, and these streamers are demonstrating why.
