Most female content creators, not just vtubers or streamers, have phases in their content creation.
This is typically tied to their age, but it's also an approximation of their lived experiences forcing them to evolve.
Now I'm going to dissect Mori here to show you what I mean.
>spent her teenage years not caring about her future, just engaged with Alt culture>eventually convinced herself to move to japan to live a said Alt culture lifestyle since nothing was tying her to her home>spent the next few years trying hard break out in said culture she idolized as a teenage girl while wage slaving as an english teacher>her success was middling, she was investing most of the profit from her job after bills directly into music production and it never really made more money than it costed to create>none of the people in her social circle were particularly successful either>this all changed when she applied to hololive with her friend milkyqueen and sydsnap as a joke>over the course of a month, she went from barely being able to fund her own projects, to now having breakout success in a gig she was never intending to take seriously>in the following months she would try to spread some of her newfound wealth and success with her social circle>they either directly tried to leech off of her and her company, or they completely scorned her in general for becoming corporate and fake>this caused a big schism in her mentality, she felt that her success was different from Calliope Mori's success, so she sought to redebut her IRL persona with aggressive marketing and events>this ended up not working how she would have hoped, and she ended up getting jaded that Calliope Mori is now much more famous than she would ever be>this caused her to start antagonizing her own fans at some points when they didn't deserve it, and would start drinking heavily in order to stream>she had a series of meltdowns during this dark period where she felt trapped as Calliope Mori and actively self-sabotaged herself, along with other issues she had IRL>her music suffered heavily during this period as well as the songs were costing more to produce but were not seeing the same returns like she saw with her earlier songs>after other talents that she collabed with had graduated or terminated, she started reflecting on what exactly the opportunity in Hololive meant for her personally, and how her whole mentality of focusing on what people outside of hololive think of her has always been toxic>this in turn caused her to reevaluate the way she treated her fans who stuck by her despite the meltdowns, she realized that she is honestly grateful that they stuck by her despite being a fuck up and that she wants to give back to Hololive that has stuck by her no matter whatAll in all, her and Kronii's story is basically about figuring out what's personally important for yourself.
For a lot of female content creators, the fans either becomes a distraction for moving on with their life, or their fans become their life.
And they decided that their fans that stick by them no matter what were the most important thing to them.
So now they make content to appreciate the guys that work hard and send them their hard earned money, like Kiara says;
>"You know guys, giving me money like this that I spend on food and stuff to live my life, it's almost like we're married"
