But that's not the case for Niji or holo talents. The vast majority of Niji or Holo hires never achieved or just barely achieved the the sub count needed for a play button in their indie career. The plague still has the benefit of making them feel acomplished, but it now comes with the added effect of "I could never do this before getting into Niji. I'm so happy I made it in!".
Even if they fucking hate the company, even if they hate how management treats them, even if they want to deny it on a surface level, the plague reminds them they are nothing without the company. And it reinforces to them that only by being in the company can things like this become possible for them.
Niji's whole fucking company culture is gaslighting their talents and they can't even do it right.
