Youtube ultraboosts discovery on shorts, basically bypassing all of the usual SEO garbage needed to get any kind of discovery because they`re desperate to compete with tiktok and using discovery as an incentive to drive content creators to fill out their wannabe tiktok feature.
It`s not clear if this is actually an exploit that youtube will fix at some point, or if they opened this up on purpose to compete directly with the rise in popularity of streaming on tiktok--which has been growing in part because youtube and twitch have been so shitty to so many creators for so long that they`re eager to jump ship to any viable competitor.
