>>64263876The issue is, and no disrespect to any vtubers fans of some other fanbase, but Ironmouse does what the Holofags or even Nijifags consider the norm. Events, covers, concerts, original music, streaming, etc., but your vtubers are trapped in a self contained bubble, you can break into the normie market but it dies down because it has no a single ounce of relevancy anymore, Vtubers are now seen on all platforms and they don’t really need a corpo telling them what to do. Ironmouse might be the flagship for that due to various encounters with the normies, having articles written about her and even a good presence online, and hence why she’s recognized. And this doesn’t really matter if they have huge fanbases, this is the second time the Hispanic audience has been nominated, and that fanbase is fucking huge and it has been for the past years, only now it’s recognized as an existent market of content creators that go into the “mainstream” audience which is the English speaking one.
Basically, Ironmouse might not be /vt/ choice of what the vtubbing market should be represented by, but it is an important remark that if Ironmouse is one of the people that does what /vt/ and the audience expect of vtubers (even if most don’t even do that), then that’s a good thing.
Also reality is that, this award even for most of the credit it gets from the fanbases, it’s also kinda wack, because it is literally the equivalent of the animation award on the Oscars, as content creators to gaming have been mostly just glorified ad blocks for game devs.
