I went through a sneaker head phase around 2016 and trying to buy a new release is so cancerous, the supply is always so fucking limited for some reason, you're often competing against not only hundreds of people but also a hundreds of sclaper bots that'll frame 1 add product to their cart and check out, so shit sells out near instantly
And despite being a trillion dollar industry these shoe manufacturers have literally zero fixes/counters to deal with these bots beyond the most bare basic raffles where you have enter and just pray you win, to make matter worse these associate stores that participating the raffle are often miles away from where you live, so if even you win you still have to drive hours away
