>>64669830I get what you're saying but I tend to prefer vtubers for their solo content, their corp isn't very important. Rosemi, Pomu, Vivi, and Selen are pretty much in their own bubbles just like many of the Holo girls. Maybe once or twice a week they'll do a collab, and if I don't like the participants I just skip it.
I don't think Nijisanji or Hololive really affects their solo content as much as you suggest unless you're watching it for the community/family aspect. Personally I find vtuber fans, especially 2020 tourists incredibly annoying and obnoxious so vtubers like Vivi who are willing to filter those people and not take shit from fans are refreshing.
Maybe that means I need to take the indie pill since corpos will inevitably be sanitized and overly professional, but I think Vivi and my other oshis strike a good balance between the ultra-sanitized "just a job" environment of Hololive and the crude e-girl co-workers they have in Nijisanji. They seem genuine in a way that most Holos and even other Nijis simply can't pull off. They're honest and transparent with their fans, and always willing to speak their mind, something I've only really seen from Kiara and Mori when it comes to Holo. I value that level of sincerity a lot, so knowing my oshi wouldn't change her style in another corp and is showing the image she wants people to see is important to me.
I don't want my oshi to go to another corp and totally change how she conducts herself just to "fit in", in fact that would be worse than her disappearing entirely. Finding out the identity I fell in love with was just a persona she threw away would be really sad.
tl;dr:
if being in Holo would change Vivi or Pomu or any of my oshis then I hope they never join because I don't want them to change. They're already perfect.
