The only way to stop this is honestly by visiting the person IRL and usually they come out crying because its just some dumb kid on the internet. They wanted a fair share of fame and limelight, due to their parents and society never paid attention about them even a slightest.
Seriously, there's a lot of such cases over here especially on Facebook. Adding the fact SEA is heavily infected with "ironic humor" by using 4chan screencaps as their dictionary of humor in public conversations.
