This is only semi related but does anyone else have trouble with Youtube recommending roommate streams? I don't watch face reveal videos or anything of the sort, but sometimes when I'm watching certain streams the roommate channel appears in the recommended area on the side. Got surprised one day clicking it, thinking it was a random utawaku and hearing a very familiar voice.

Yes actually. A mass report big enough would do the trick. Projekt Melody had someone restreaming her Twitch streams on Youtube with monetization enabled and she failed to get them taken down for about a year until she finally tweeted about it and it was down within the day.

Youtube recommends based on shared viewership and what people who like the video watch. So if a decent portion of the people who watched the same video have watched roommate stuff and that stuff does well algorithmically, youtube will show you roommate stuff. Roommate videos probably have above average click rates which is why they get pushed so hard by the algorithm.

Youtube are legally obligated to remove the videos until a counter claim is filed. If they don't then youtube loses the protections offered by the dmca. To date youtube have ignored exactly zero (0) valid dmcas.
