Not to start a console war or anything, but part of the reason why they’re numbers are so low is because Holo EN is tiny compared to the EN branches of other Vtubing company. There are advantages and disadvantages to this, such as Holos having higher sub counts.

What corpos? NijiEN is in shamble no matter how much they stream. Vhoejo is pretty much carried by ironwhore once pink cat whore left. Small corpos are also full of drama or on the verge of disbanding. There isn't anything worthwhile to compare to.

Hololive will always be the #1 vtuber company but that's by brand and name recognition, viewerwise, holoEN is large, but they're not the dominant force in streaming, other corpos beat hololive in many niches and stand toe to toe with them in many others. Hololive will be #1 for concerts and when they do stream, they're a major player but they do not have a monopoly on the EN vtuber space.

NijiEN is slowly dying and even NijiEN.fans are aware.
NijiID is literally dead and all other ID corps are irrelevant
Vshojo is now carried entirely by ironmouse. Their other two top talents fucked off.
Phase is just pippa who is as relevant as a holoID

Part of it is just the perception of them not streaming much because of Gura and Ame not streaming. Another part is that lesser groups don’t have the luxury of taking time off when they can’t give 100% on stream due to outside factors like health or school. Part is that they can’t pad their hours with react content. Part is that Hololive provides a lot of opportunities (not just concerts, but stuff like sponsorships and other events) that require off-stream prep work. Part is that the idea that this is a full-time job took a while for the company as a whole to acknowledge, so people with other obligations that take them away from streaming got hired.
