>>65411574>put it simply>proceeds to come up with the most idiotic analogy possible, and still gets it wrongJesus Christ anon, do you actually feel smart after writing that diatribe? This is how you actually put it in a simple way without being condescending and actually giving useful information.
Media production company (Hololive, Nijisanji, VOMS, Phase, etc.): Their business model is to produce content and earn money from their related avenues (ads, merch, direct donations like superchats, bits, etc.), their streamers/vtubers/talent are employees of the company and get paid by the company, the company owns the IP, their managers are there to both help their employees fulfill their obligations and make sure they follow company policy.
TL;DR: Employer-employee relationship.
Talent management agency (VShojo, Mythic, MSM, UTA, etc.): Their business model is to offer managerial services to their talent in exchange for payment which can be direct (the talent literally pays money to the agency) or by taking a cut from related avenues (merch, sponsors, etc.). The talent owns the IP and licenses it to the agency for use in merch, marketing, etc. Managers are the people the agency assigns to help the talent. Generally non-exclusive, a talent can sign with multiple agencies if each specializes in managing different aspects of the talent's career.
TL;DR: Service exchange relationship.
"Org", "corpo", "vtubing agency" are random nigh meaningless terms the vtuber community comes up with and throws around liberally whenever they try to prove their point. It's the same reason why you don't see the problem with lumping VShojo with Hololive and Nijisanji in that idiotic example. Or why Mythic not being exclusively vtubers changes nothing and calling their vtubers "indie" is stupid as fuck if it's not equally applied to the talents in other agencies operating in basically the same way.
