As to answer your question OP, Hard work tm and luck mostly, it's hard to get an audience and it's only going to get harder as time passes and the market hypersaturates. Honestly the Artmeis model it's probably the best if you want to be a vtuber AKA not caring for the revenue and just having it as a hobby while living out of your daytime job.

I haven't followed her for too long but it kinda seems like she's growing? She had 1.5k viewers in an Outlast stream she did recently and that's more than I can remember seeing since I started watching her.

More than a good design, background, background music, or fuck, even rigging, the most important is that you need to go at least semi-viral to be succesful.
