Japanese has no soft "r" sound, literally the only character they share in common is a ぐ (gu), and make no mistake her name was thought up by Japanese corpos.
And if that's not enough, take a look at this:

You see that "リ" character? Looks like "い" doesn't it? That's the point, it's joke
This isn't reaching either, Nijisanji is no stranger to deciding names based on visual jokes in Japanese, like Joe Rikiichi's name intentionally looking like Joe Kaa. All of the NijiEN girls have official versions of their names in Japanese made to represent them and Petra is no different. Gu-rin sounds like an actual name albeit a fantastical one, Guin does not.
