>>65655533Pretty much. NijiEN is a failed experiment in the sense that they gave their vtubers way too much freedom in how to conduct themselves in public. The vtubers kept dropping the ball and damaging the company brand, which then also hurt their own fortunes.
Nijisanji really needed to go the Holo route of keeping everyone on a short leash. Instructing their talent to stream safely and avoid stupid leaks, screening every tweet and statement, micromanaging every project etc. to make the branch work and prosper. Aspiring vtubers tend to be misfits and menheras, they simply can't be trusted to not act out if left to themselves in a corporate environment. They eventually start testing the boundaries and trying to break free.
Keeping a clean image was especially important for NijiEN because they entered the western scene in second place, putting them in the crosshairs of everyone above and below them. Unlike HoloEN, they were no one's darling out of the gate.
