There are some key indicators that you're being lied to though. If they say all the right things and are only supportive, then they think you're not intelligent enough to know they're doing it intentionally. Some will say that this is very cynical and jaded, but it really isn't. There are genuine people out there, but they will be honest with you even if it's going to turn you off or limit their parasocial bucks. It's the cuck paradox, because the good ones are probably cucking you and never dropping their act. The non-cucking ones just don't attract the cuckable audience.
