This, but also they don't actually do it. A concert of any kind takes a lot of effort and planning. The kind of activities that would disrupt everyone's schedule. There are probably some events that are live or that significantly involve the talents but otherwise it's a 3D mechanical puppet show.

That, and, until recently with the new studio, there were limitations with how many people they could record at once. The Hoshimatic Project streams and performances weren’t possible with the old studio, at least not without stitching recordings of different portions of the group together in post.

They literally streamed a bunch of the training sessions for the last segment anon. The entire point of the new studio was also that they could record their entire roster at the same time, unless you think they spent 10 million dollars on hundreds of excess state of the art mocap cameras just to deceive you on their blog
