To 2024! Edition

Welcome to /vsj+/! A thread to discuss VShojo and vtubers who frequently associate with them.

And that ends another year of VShojo. After 2021 ended on a massive bang 2022 crawled out with a whimper and it was difficult not to think about what had changed from the year prior. It all culminated in a stream that, though enjoyable, was a bit difficult to defend when Mouse was the only one having a New Year's Eve party, and not a single person from VShojo was able to make it. One could only hope that 2023 would be better, but sometimes things have to get worse before they can get better. Early on in the year was the most tumultuous time the group's ever had, and for a while it seemed like this really could be the end. But instead of letting that near-brush with death bring everyone down, they worked to improve things dramatically, and that primarily started when Henya showed up only a short time after we lost three people in the span of a few days. Zen went out of her way to cram unity down everyone's throats, which had the side effect of also helping Henya grow very comfortable with the group in a very short amount of time. Unity was off the charts, and things only got better when longtime + and close friend of everyone in the group Geega joined. A couple of mildly-traumatized slightly-used recruits later in the form of Mata and Kuro, and the loss of one more person who everyone knew was on the way out and here we are. The group's makeup looks vastly different than it did just a year prior, but the new members have only continued the unity train Zen got going, and now the year's ending on an excellent VR Chat party with most of the group around.

So hats off to 2023. The year that Froot has made great strides to getting more ingrained with the others, as well as delivered on a number of covers, with each and every one being an absolute banger. The year that Kson got to achieve a big time dream of hers by competing in the cabaret girl contest, and win a role in two Yakuza games. The year that Mel is finally getting over some of her hangups about her line of work being associated with the others, and got a good bit of recognition on her own right. The year that Zen spent continuing to force absolutely everyone into group collabs and events, while also showing more people than ever how a strong personality can shine through a robotic voice. The year that Haruka spent reminding everyone why you don't challenge her at Nintendo games while discovering her new love in BG3. The year that Henya joined, and broke out of her shell by a considerable degree, all while staying in the comfort of her own home. The year that Geega joined, and helped whip the girls into shape by teaching them about calendars in-between 8 hour yapping sessions. The year that Kuro joined, and immediately showed just how fucking hard he could grind in his career without anything weighing him down with constant YT uploads and streams. The year that Matara joined, helping her to find a space for her audience where she felt like they could live free of persecution, and proved that sometimes all you need are huge tits to make even a roach hot. And the year that Hime continued being Hime, but we love her for it.

2023 started off feeling like a dark time for the group, but it's come out the other end shining brighter than ever before. Who knows what the fuck next year has in store, but if this positivity train can keep going then 2024 has the potential to be even better. Only time will tell, but until then keep things comfy and civil by ignoring and especially reporting bait, and being excellent to each other.
