It's true for Hololive and I'm sure it's true for some small corps and indies, but it isn't true for Nijisanji, vshoujo and some other small corps and indies and that's perfectly fine. Fans of CGDCT anime girls are being served content they like and fans of streamers with avatars are also being served content they like. The friction is that CGDCT fans are calling vtubers who aren't completely worthless instead of ignoring them which upsets their fans and fans of the others are pushing for and/or demanding Hololive change to be like Nijisanji instead of watching one of the hundreds of Nijis which annoys Hololive's fans. Both of the belligerent parts of both fanbases aren't actually a significant number among their respective fanbases, but they're both loud and kind of retarded so resolution between the two seems unlikely. All that is before we even get into the shitposting and falseflagging exacerbating the problem.
