The story of NijiEN is like this.

These were the legendary "lazusydia" days that drew a lot of ex-hololive fans into Niji. The girls had very good social interactions, would freely join each other's VC, and had lots of fun times messing around on stream. It was spontaneous, charming, and felt special. The best of time to be a nijiEN fan.
>then Ethyria debuts
>debuts aren't advertised well, get low views (and shark streamed over them rip)
>this leaves the Ethyria girls in a desperate scramble for numbers, start trying to leech any way they can
>start popping into VC calls, not to have fun with friends, but to leech popularity for themselves
>social atmosphere is becoming less friendly
But things can't get worse than that, right?
>Luxiem debuts
>debut streams are surprisingly weak, but quickly gain a following on Chinese social media and their popularity explodes
>start bringing in so much money it's unbelievable
>the entire nature of the fanbase changes, from ex-hololive fans, to fujos
>because of the lingering open-VC culture, the boys start randomly joining the girl's streams. This pissed off the male fanbase, because every time they'd try to watch their oshi, a male would join the stream and start talking about his dick
>Niji ends open-VC forever
Seeing the success of Luxiem, Niji changes their business strategy. Instead of trying to scoop the North American market, they'll double down on China. It makes sense, especially because Hololive is banned in China, so it's just free money.
>Noctyx debuts another wave of male alents. Enormous debut numbers, but a very weak roster of talents leaves them underperforming
>at this point Ethyria staring at Luxiem's numbers and licking their chops.
>Decide to abandon all principles and start leeching off the boys.
>Reimu forced a ship with Vox, which he played along with out of sympathy for her awful numbers.
>Nina joined the Luxiem offcollab and almost every stream of hers included the boys, resulting in an absurd number of subscribers (#1 for a while) but low viewers
>the other Ethyria girls become noticeably less seiso. Enna starts acting like a cunt, Millie starts becoming more lewd and unhinged.
>these changes start to infect Lazulight and Obsydia too, Pomu starts hanging around Luca all the time and becomes much less seiso than before. Does her infamous Pufferfish collab which drove away a lot of original fans and severely hurt her hololive appeal
Then Nijisanji decides to debut their first mixed-wave. The unfortunate result was ILuna, which was filled with normalfags.
>At this point, Kyo messages Enna on discord and they become friends (or more than friends perhaps)
>Their first collab together was so popular, they become inseparable. Start visiting each other's streams all the time. They do more collabs and each time get huge numbers.
>Millie is missing out on the leeching, so she starts trying to create ships with Luxiem members.
>Elira does her offcollab with Shu in a love hotel. Doesn't hurt her too much but becomes infamous with japanese fans.
In a later collab, all the Ethyria girls talk about how glad they are for these changes, how dropping their seiso act felt soooo good. They even said that they hoped more change would be coming soon. For this reason, let it be known forever that Ethyria is the whore wave. Meanwhile the Hololive girls are looking at the male attention Nijifems are getting and feeling jealous, pushing Holo management to debut males of their own.
>XSolei debuts next, going for a Kpop appeal. Niji has completely abandoned the Western market at this point, hires a bunch of ESL's that stream in the Asian timeslot.
>Now Ethyria decides they want to break more boundaries. Enna invites Kyo into her bedroom and they do an NTR offcollab flipping off her fans and calling them cucks.
>Several of the females are openly flirting with the males or trying to start ships to leech popularity, Ethyria leading the way of course.
>people speculating that Pomu and Luca will offcollab soon.
At this point, the remaining ex-holo fans in Niji are looking at each other nervously, wondering how much worse this is going to get. A few of them start an aggressive shitpost campaign to push back the degeneracy and make a place for male fans in a thread which had been overrun by women. The /nenfem/ thread was created, Ethyria was called out for being the whores they were. The Luca copypasta was pasted. Enna's reputation was permanently obliterated.
The struggle continues. Between the original Lazusydia fans, who remember day when NijiEn was special. And the disgusting fujos, and their Ethyria whores, desperate to push the branch into full-on degeneracy.
