Aki has also always collabed with males, however the change with her is that now ALL of her content is collabing with them.
I guess you could say that Laplus started doing it too last year, but everyone knew she was going to.
Ao and Ririka are too new to have amassed any kind of die hard following and so they can't lose what they didn't have.
Ultimately, there still really aren't that many JP members that collab with males.
Ignoring things like real celebrity appearances, tournaments, coaching, etc., then the only members of hololive JP that regularly collab with male streamers are:
Mel
Fubuki
Matsuri
Aki
Towa
Botan
Laplus
Ao
Ririka
Some of the others have done male collabs in the past, and members like Sora and Suisei sometimes include males in their music endeavors or as part of promoting hololive, but the above nine members are the only ones where collabing with male streamers is a significant portion of their content.
