Let's say you're watching a talkshow every week and when they started the show, they announced that they would never invite a certain group of people as guests onto the show. For clarity, let's assume said group is something like "currently elected politicians serving the Government." The reason they state this is that they want their talkshow to be a place in which people can relax and enjoy lighthearted banter and that real world issues don't have a place in the show
Fast forward a year into the shows' airing and they bring on a controversial politician. Is it not only natural that the audience who have been supporting the show all along might take offense to this?
