I do agree with you on the second point, but more so because it causes serious mental damage to a lot of the other talents; whether it shows up immediately or over time
all i know for sure right now is i'm sad... especially for Mel but also all her gen mates who were just starting to form the bonds most of the other gens had the fortune to start out with
