How does COVER know if you leaked private company information?

How exactly did they find out that Mel broke her NDA?

The only way I can think of is that she has written serious shit with her Mel account without her realizing that it would be serious or that she is being monitored, but how?

Well you have various possibility.
1 - she self reported after realising what she have done (actually likely with how cover are trying their best to give her the best scenario possible)
2 - the person who get the info reported her
3 - a manager randomly caught it
4 - she and/or other holomemb were investigated due to suspisions of a leak, like for exemple because of weird movement of their stocks.

If I were cover, I'd enter all the holomembers personal info (e.g. personal addresses) into an email filter or something and flag every instance of it that comes up. Not sure about the technical challenge involved though I imagine there are existing solutions.

We've seen time and again that several holos use their holo social media, including discord, as if it were their personal accounts, and we know Cover has full access to all of those. It's not that hard to imagine a scenario where Mel does something really dumb and gets caught.

How is this a best scenario? Because the Japanese toned down their autism to a merely extreme level, rather than super-extreme?
(Yes I totally believe a random accidental NDA breach from a VTUBER merits immediate termination, even if said vtuber was one of the founding members of your company and has done nothing wrong otherwise)

Are you mistaking adult dealing with job and contract with a fucking middle school or something?
You need to deal with consequence far heavier, so taking responsabilities for your mistake cost you more than writting 10 world saying you are sorry to have been catched.
And yes, being fired ceremoniously is quite the best scenario you can have with a NDA break. She could have gotten in juridical trouble if it was severe enought, getting out with a clean reputation, maybe even a little + as she will appear to be someone honnest who can take responsability, who can be vouched by cover if her future employer want. Getting a new job for her gona be a piece of cake, getting sponsorship will be easy. She can't repear what she have but she securised her future in the end, that's why it's the good ending.
Look how many trouble rushia got after she got terminated, Mel is basicaly imune to allmost all of them. This kind of best scenario.

I don't think it was egregious, but probably something of some level of severity. Maybe personal details or personal contact of management to someone looking to join?
