>>67574089There's a lot of context needed to get to the Astel comment, but basically he's a natural playboy, he always kind of held back but last year he tried going all in on the playboy bit and flirted with most of the people he collabed with, mostly girls but he did throw a few moves at guys too (none Holo by the way, except Matsuri, but if you watch them it's so obviously in jest I don't know how anyone can take it seriously). He exploded in popularity for a bit and got the nickname "tokkyu jubutsu." But the key thing you have to keep in mind is that Astel is a troll, all his flirting is meant to be for entertainment, to get a reaction and a laugh, which is why some of the stuff he says isn't smooth but just bizarre. He's good friends with all the people he "terrorizes" and many have commented he's very polite off-stream and asks people how far he can go with his antics. And you're right, people DID eat some of his pairings up, to the point shippers were shitting up his chat.
Fast forward, his jubutsu bit lost steam, and Astel, having done all this in an attempt to get recognized and thus Holostars recognized realized welp, this isn't working anymore and stopped. Which led to him saying that if Holostars going the pure boy idol route worked, ie no collabs with other females at all ala Hololive, he'd do it (it doesn't work for them by the way, he tried), he then threw in the cheeky line he'd just play with girls off-stream and laughed about it.
