>>67828016There was talk that the global market for VTubers will reach more than 10 times in 2028, seven years from 2021. I would like to hear Mr. Tanigo's opinion on what is the driving force behind this 10 times increase.
Mr. Tanigo: That is an external (company) prediction, and this is just my opinion, but I believe that the VTuber market has been created in Japan for the first time in a while, I think there is something a little similar to the likes of Uber (a matching service for ride-hailing) and Uber (a ride-hailing matching service) that started up in America and are coming to places like Japan.
What I want to say is that VTuber is still popular in some areas and not yet. For example, VTubers have become quite popular in the United States, and everyone who is a fan of anime and games knows about them, but in the EU, including France, where there are many fans of anime and manga, VTubers have not yet become that popular. There is no situation.
I think this may be due to a time zone issue. (In the EU), content that would be convenient for viewing in the American time zone cannot be enjoyed in real time. This is content where fans who are watching the same stream can enjoy interactive communication with each other, so they will no longer be able to enjoy that experience.
In that sense, VTubers are still not just anime-looking characters in the area of each country, but they are also CGs that are very tailored to the local area. The Korean PLAVE that I mentioned earlier is a webtoon VTuber, and it is a local VTuber. It's in line with the needs. The first point is that such VTubers may be born in each country.
Another point is that VTuber is still in the early stages of the IP business. Even if we say out-licensing, it's a shotgun situation, such as a limited-time collaboration at a convenience store, but if this is a game that only features that IP, or if animation content is released. If so, wouldn't it spread even more?
For example, there are of course people who watch anime but don't watch VTuber's broadcasts, so while anime plays a role in gaining a wider fan base and increasing brand value, monetization with games is possible. If things like this are done more than ever before, I wonder if there is a possibility that something like that (10x market growth in 7 years) will happen.
