>>68083984I call it a Reddit thing because it's basically exactly what happened when they got ahold of the term "waifu". Which was just a meme that came from Azumanga Daioh from the Principal saying "my wife" in a funny way and then the West eventually morphed this into a term for the 2D girl you love and obsess over. But when normalfags got ahold of it, they just changed it to mean "all of your favorite 2D girls". So they have "waifus" instead of just one.
This is literally the pipeline that the term Oshi had when it came into vtuber lexicon. That's why I call it Reddit. When it was loaned here, it meant the vtuber you care about the most, support, etc over all others. But then normalfags can't imagine that, so they morph it into"all of your favorite vtubers". But since that makes the term meaningless, the bring over another term "Kamioshi", which is used to take the meaning of what Oshi was meant to mean in English in the first place. In other words, normalfags bastardized it, and that's why I call it Reddit.
