I used to frequent Mahjong parlors in Japan. Out there, there exists a legend: the Italian Dragon. You know her as Panko. As the legend goes, she enters Mahjong Parlors followed by a man carrying a briefcase containing solid gold Jong tiles. She approaches the table farthest from the door, and, just by looking, picks out the weakest player. She puts her hand on his shoulder and says, "Your game's done." I saw it once. It was terrifying. She discards tiles with such confidence and force, you can feel the ground shake. By South 1 Panko was dominating, and the entire parlor was watching. "Double Riichi," Panko said confidently. The other players folded, but it was too late. "Tsumo!" Panko yelled, slamming the winning tile down. "Double Riichi, Menzenchin Tsumohou, Ippatsu, Chiitoitsu, Honitsu, Ura Dora, Dora. Kazoe yakuman." Black flames burst from her eyes as she said, "Kore wa, Kami-sama no Mahjong desu!" Her three opponents all clutched their hearts and died. "We're done here," Panko said as she left the table while her men gathered the gold tiles.
