Anyone else bothered whenever HoloEn refers to others who aren't JP as "Senpai"? Like Ina calling Iofi as one or Irys saying Gura-Senpai.

It's really jarring, like watching weebs interacting with normal people.

Irys is a halfu that is living and working in Japan. She absolutely uses Senpai sincerely. I would lump Mori in there as well since she's been working there for multiple years now. It's natural for them. Ina is asian qnd primarily works with Asian companies. She understands the concept and probably exercise the idea. I dunno about the rest.

Not just an ordinary weeb but an idolfag turbo-weeb, lived in Japan for many years and speaks almost on par with natives (or better in some cases)

Mori is an odd case. She seems to have a decent grasp of the language, and the only EN living there ought to have grown accustomed to it, but she's just so non-Japanese in how she conducts herself all the time (not in a bad way necessarily, the JP girls are smitten with her for it). On the rare times she collabs and is forced to actually make banter with them, she totally overemphasizes the "R-RESPECC MUH SENPAIS" shit and it feels like a total put-on.

Ame and Gura are literal professional weebs. It's cringe. I don't have much opinion on ID 1st, Iofi seems like the only one with a good enough grasp to communicate with JP and have honorifics feel normal. Same goes for Reine and Anya in ID 2nd, but Ollie...she just seems too "westernized" for some reason

The senpai thing should only be temporary. If you notice JPs, the senpais term is only used after 1-2 streams. They already drop it after spending more time with them. Just the fact that Mori and/or Ame still use them only means they don't understand what it is for or they aren't really bonding properly with the other girls. Kiara dropped it already for certain people. She still uses it on Pekora because she values her a lot. She still uses senpai for Subaru because she likes getting the baby treatment from her
