Yeah, and it was only a matter of time. People only found it distasteful before their own oshis graduated and then they go in on that type of discussion because now it affects them. The more time passes, the more talents reincarnate and the more it'll be normalized, for good and ill.

It was like that for a long time before the EN scene blew up. There was a healthier middle ground between "only acknowledge the character" and "treat the character and the actor as the same person" which is kind of the split between /vt/ and /jp/ that each become polarized.

Part of it had to do with the Aloe dox/harassment that made people hyper paranoid since it was people's first real experience with vtubing... funny enough it was the Delutaya threads that also started cracking at that because you had to discuss both Aloe and Delutaya.
