Anon they kept canceling shit she was working on after she already payed for it. People might be able to trawl the archives but I remember several instances where she would talk about a big project she was working in getting shot down by management after putting her money into it. This also happened to Gura and Pekora(who had a live on stream meltdown over it) so it happens across the board but to have it done repeatedly will just break a person. Then you add in how much Nijisanji takes from their talents and it paints a picture that Last Coffee was the last straw that broke her after 3 years of that shit.

She has not addressed this question in any way. So anything anyone says is speculation.
I am almost certain, however, she'll at the very least be affiliated with talent agencies like Mythic, UTA, etc. in the future, they can help a lot with big projects and come with few downsides. Vshojo isn't impossible but doesn't seem likely given what she has planned.
I am also very skeptical she will ever join a JP corpo again, even yesterday, whenever she talked about potential tournaments, big collabs, etc., she specifically talked about indies and NA companies, nothing about JP. And, while people will deny it forever and insist she's joining a certain dorito factory, I highly doubt she is okay with signing over her rights and being subjected to perms autism ever again.

It's looking too good to be otherwise. Girl's not only a popular ex-corpo vtuber, but now also an avatar for open artistic expression and mental health care for the employed. Granted that's what social media has rallied behind her as, though she may not have necessarily asked for such a position. At least how it's developed in the eyes of these people. At least she didn't become a martyr for it. Things may die down once all NijiEN's garbage gets poured out and sorted through (may actually take a while), but so long as she has the connections, resources, and intuition for projects she won't need a corpo for a long time. I can really only see her doing it in the near future if she either REALLY believes in a company or wants to stick close to certain friends. The latter I think she will soon prove doesn't actually require her being attached to a company... I mean outside Cover, but even then she can still thoroughly enjoy the company of her Holo friends offline which I think is more important right now.

Oh wow, what the fuck. I subscribed to Dokibird way back on the 5th when all this shit went down, I specifically remember because I like to record these things so I took a screenshot of my subscription and she was only at 20k subs at the time. My subscription actually got removed.

This is the first time I've ever been the victim of a subscription cull. I think because my YouTube account has been around for a long time and I use it very actively so my subscription doesn't look weird to anyone. I've heard other people complaining about it but it's never happened to me before.

Did this happen to anyone else? It'd be funny if this was the one time a subscription cull affected me and I couldn't find anyone else it happened to.

Honestly, outside Pomu who isn't even streaming anymore for the time being, I think Doki should keep a healthy distance from ex-livers for now. What Kuro said about things likely getting worse from what he's heard might possibly be coming true. And as it stands now, it's getting clearer that interpersonal drama does exist, even if Anycolor corporate may still be the bigger factor in making the Nijisanji work environment what it is currently. These things really need to get addressed (amongst each other not in public) and worked through first. That will probably take a LONG time, especially if NijiEN ends ups going through a big shake up that sees a lot of people leave. Let the chaos and the people involved sort themselves out first. I won't blame Doki if she does collab with ex-livers sooner than I feel she should. I don't want to keep her from her loved ones. I say this as someone who hasn't even played Palworld so I'm not biased, but it's a great streaming game for the same reason as ARK and Minecraft, which is that you share a server with your friends and can interact with them easily in a drop-in, drop-out way, so I don't see why you're so against it. It doesn't make much sense to push for a streamer to play it as a solo game, but I see no reason for Nijisanji not to play it other than "They don't want to piss off Nintendo", which is funny because Hololive doesn't seem to care about that at all. I don't know if it's because Nintendo screws them around with Pokemon permissions, or if they feel like they're so big that Nintendo will feel obligated to still let them play Pokemon, but it's a weird situation.

Not that the game is at all like Pokemon, to be clear. It has collectible creatures that look and function like Pokemon, but the game itself is literally just ARK with an anime artstyle. So I can also see why someone who likes Pokemon would have no interest in it.

As an indie, you have to deal with managerial stuff more than you might expect, despite having a hired manager. Considering she wants to do a ton of projects, she is going to want to find the extra time to do all that, and being an indie arguably forces her to do work that can otherwise be delegated to a well-greased assembly line that deals with all the paperwork. We'll see how it goes and how she feels about it and whether she thinks the extra free time is worth the tradeoff of some liberties.

You know this has only happened to me a few times, but even though I have no problem with the model's design, it is so hard to get used to a different model when you've been watching one for so long. Especially in my case, because I don't think Live2D technology is all that great, so sometimes I don't like to actually watch the stream video, I just like to close my eyes and imagine an anime girl talking. It is really hard to change the image in my mind so that it's the new model talking and not the old one. I'm sure I'll get used to it eventually, but it's tough.

Probably gonna be difficult cause Hololive still has some merch/promotional collabs with Nijisanji (Though it's pretty much exclusively JP) ongoing.

Hololive is a bit smarter about not rocking the boat than Nijisanji, so chances are Holomanagement is going to prevent any Doki collabs until AFTER the current collaborations come to an end. At that point Holomanagement will need to decide between siding with their own talents' desires and the public opinion, or inter-company relations. (Though I'm pretty sure they'll choose to let Mumei do her collabs and just shrug off any attempts at legal prodding from Nijisanji)

Before anyone replies to this post, drooling and grinning, saying "Whad culd Nihihandi posubly doo? Huehue". A company doesn't need any legal justification to make things hard for you. Especially in Japan. Look up 'abusive litigation' for just a few examples.

Caring about an opinion and caring about what actions a company you have a degree of financial connection to are two different things. That's why Cover/Hololive probably want things to conclude before they do anything that could risk a disruption to their business or damage to their reputation.

You need to understand that there is their reputation with the consumers (us), but also their reputation with uninvolved people (normies), and reputation with other businesses. If Hololive takes an action, that in turn causes a reaction from Nijisanji, say the sudden canceling of a collaborative effort between the two talent corporations and a retailer, then both Hololive and the Retailer would likely have wasted money and time on preparations for said collaborative effort.

While Nijisanji would take the brunt of the negative reputation from this, the retailer and others like them will also note Hololive took an action that could very clearly be interpreted as a slight against a company they were working with. An action that arguably caused the loss of investment. It wouldn't be as a bad a wrap as what Niji gets, but a small ball of shit hitting your face isn't much better than a big one.

The key factor is that she basically wants to move on. Which is reasonable, since she no longer has to deal with coworkers causing yabs and hurting her image via association, or dumb managers that do nothing for her but take a cut of her profits, or game permissions or having to dance around certain topics out of fear that she'll get bonked for it.

I just noticed something. When doki first got terminated, Kuro (mysta) followed her on his second account (Blu), she followed him back.
Later, he followed her on his main account. (she never followed back)
The other day, he flew to Japan. Now he's unfollowed her on both accounts.

Corpo managers work for the company they work and the go between for talents and the company itself, are supposed to help with contracts and also insure the talents are behaving whole also protecting the talents. The benefit of a corpo manager is that they are usually only assigned to a few talents so they can focus more on the talent. (This is how it is supposed to work)

Indie managers are usually contracted by multiple talents, groups and people. This means that there might be less time to focus on specific talents all the time. But it also means that the manager works for the talent and the talent is essentially the boss in the relationship where in a Corp it is the other way around.
