Borderline personality disorder, on the other hand, means you switch between extreme emotions mid-conversation, not episodes like bipolar. Bipolar is genetic, so if she had it, she would have to have been dealing with it all her life including now. It's way more likely that she wrote BPD to mean that she is an exentric person (the stereotype of people with borderline). Unlike bipolar though, personality disorders can change over time when a person's personality changes, like for example after a traumatic event, so if she did have it, she might not have it now.
