Because for the most part this is unfiltered feedback site compared to 99.9% of other sites that are hugboxes, and for 3 views, and below both posters and lurkers here should amount to a healthy % of their concurrent viewership.
But I recommend any vtubers to only sporadically lurk here, you don't want to raise your mental darkness too much.

If I was in a vtuber company, my egosearching would be competely satisfied just by reading comments and messages on actual social media, not some bathroom-stall-graffiti of an imageboard. The only reason I'd go here would be to shitpost or vaguepost.

Probably because they think this is were they'll get all the "real" comments instead of the hugbox ones that management filters everywhere else.

Most of it is probably ego boosting... but 4chan does have the reputation of being "unfiltered."

Simply because it's the biggest vtuber forum, by far. Even the Hololive reddit gets like 1/100th of the number of posts /vt/ does, despite nominally having a million subscribers. Nobody really discusses vtubers in a public forum anywhere but /here/, r/vyt is just 2views sucking each other off, twitter is just people reacting, youtube comments are youtube comments. There are other places that are a bit more active but they're even more schizo, (doxxsite, cowsites, TVA).
