>>68700161>Auditions used to be a pretty big thingNTA but I think Cover switching the auditions from open for a certain period of time to open all year round does have an effect on it. It basically turned from an "American idol" type audition to more of a "normal audtion". There's also other factors that need to be considered to.
>People not really wanting to "announce" to the public that they failed. Like what the previous anon said, unless you're just strapped for topics to talk about or you just want to throw yourself a pity party, NO ONE wants to dwell on failure, at least not publicly.
>The long gap between Council and AdventOver 2 years is just too much, and I'm pretty sure that some of the current crop of indies and small corpos probably gave up on auditions because of that. A pity since there's a few indies that I like (Clara and Roca) who I would've wanted to see on the Holofes stage (Fuck Omegatroon)
>The 2022 slumpMost shills will deny it but HoloEN did in fact recline back in 2022. Debuting Tempiss, EN management pretty much crippling the girls, Gura specifically. Fun fact: Gura actually wanted to do shorts way before it became the meta for quick subs but EN management put so much red tape on top of it the same way that they did her 3d live that she stopped even wanting to do it at the time. So in another timeline, Gura may actually be pushing 10 mil in subs. It got so bad that HoloEN who once seemed untouchable could now be scratched by NijiEN. If they held off debuting Advent any more than they did or were dumb enough to debut Armpiss first, well... they probably still win in the end but they would be very very beatable at that point.
>More options on the corpo sideWith Phase and jewdol rising up, and with Nijisanji (prior to all the yabs) debuting multiple waves per year, Hololive was no longer the end all be all destination for all chuubas. They're still the "Harvard" of EN vtubers but not getting in doesn't mean that you can't get into your local college.
