>>68720786This is just idol culture adapted to otaku culture anon. The reality is that vtubers are and will always be a niche thing. You're not alien for not enjoying it, it's just the immense numbers that come out of these talents make a lot of noise and as such end up reaching your field of view.
It's sort of similar to liking overly complex WW2 strategy games or Dungeons and Dragons. It's not for everyone. It's a niche. The kind of where you can't easily understand what someone would find fun about it without prior exposure.
I'll say that a lot of English vtubers are glorified twitch whores though
