Sociopaths. They have sympathy but no empathy, the best they can do is emulate it. Doesn't seem that bad until you watch it play out like it is currently. The difference between sympathy and empathy is self projection. Sympathy lets you feel pity but it's at arms length and not personal. So if they see a homeless person they imagine it probably sucks to not have shelter because they themselves were cold outside at some point. Empathy lets you fully imagine yourself in the homeless person's situation as though you yourself were really homeless like feelings of loss and abandonment and you genuinely feel how terrible it would be to be homeless. So in this case they genuinely can't see why everyone is siding with Doki because they can't relate to how or why she feels and did the things she did. From their perspective she's just manipulating everyone because why else would people be siding with someone that broke the rules and suffered the consequences. Isn't that just being fair? Aren't you supposed to follow the rules? Also fans reflect the streamer so nijinigs also lack empathy which is why you see them react the way they do. It's also why they nitpick at every detail to create their own rrat because the actual situation genuinely doesn't make sense to them and the only way for them to understand it is to reframe it.

A goodway to gauge if someone is a sociopath is watch how they react to a sad movie or video of something brutal happening while they think no one is watching. The no one watching part is important because then they won't have a reasom to emulate empathy so you'll get their genuine reaction. If they watch with interest but show no signs of physically oulling back from what they're being shown chances are they're a sociopath. But don't get that confused with people just normalized to a fucked up environment, that's just a defensive response. Another classic sociopathic move is to take advantage of people they think are in a lower social or financial position or anyone they see as vulnerable. Afterall, you must have fucked up to be left so vulnerable. If you were just smarter or a better person you wouldn't be so exposed, so it's only right someone take advantage of the situation, it's only fair afterall. And who better than themselves to benefit from your loss. I mean someone's gonna do it so it might as well be them.
