>>69248196I don't hate them for quitting because at the end of the day, they did what I expected many VTubers to do: quit after 1-3 years when they realize that they don't want to stream under corpo guidelines. This is why the contracts are for 1 year because it gives both the company and them an out if they want it.
But
>>69260782 summed up my thoughts here. The way they quit left a pretty sour taste in my mouth and I think many people HoloEN fans who tangentially watched the HoloStars kinda stopped caring about that branch after that. They were perfect to fill in the gaps when they debuted and HoloEN had constant breaks. Their streams really something different at the time and were often very funny. Axel and Altare are OK but they're a bit too traditional idol-like, especially Altare. And if I wanted more idol, I'd watch HoloEN where we have monster streamers like Kaela-lite Bijou and Fuwamoco nowadays. Can't really comment on the other boys because I haven't watched them other than debut. They seem OK but not very interesting.
Honestly, I really wished they would've toughed it out for another year. It would have done so much to help the male vtuber scene. Bae talked about how in their first year, she herself thought of quitting because of how much work and pressure it was but now is living the life having moved to Japan. Maybe it wouldn't have worked out anyway but still... the thought of it would've been nice.
