If a third party with whom you've had many issues before (management) comes in and tells you a bunch of disparaging shit about your friend (selen), wouldn't you wanna talk with them directly first?
Why would they immediately believe management and feel betrayed by someone they called their friend? Let alone do everything that followed, and even more so knowing your friend tried to commit suisei??
If you look at it this way, their behavior ONLY makes sense if they either were never really friends with her at all (you pretty much have to care way less about her than you do about management). Or, well, there is no third party to believe over her, you are the third party.
It doesn't make any fucking sense otherwise. No one in their right mind would react this way upon receiving disparaging information about their beloved friend from someone you already should be inclined not to trust.
Add it to the pile of theories that pretty much confirm them telling on themselves.
