It's not 2019 anymore and the barrier to entry is now considerably lower. Indies don't need to develop their own tracking software anymore and models and rigs are cheaper and more widely available. plus the market saturation.
So if you cannot bring anything special to the table like Holo with the 3D concerts, things are looking grimm.
So they need to come up with *something* and want to be cheap about it.
Tournaments or things like a Minecraft Sportsfest are actually exactly what they need for the branch to stay relevant. Too bad the ejected the 2 most relevant people for that (not counting Luca's ex-mod).
