However, while vtubers COULD copyright strike, they don't. Clippers and vtubers' relationships are symbiotic. Clippers earn money through ad revenue, Vtubers get exposure. Tons of testimonials float around about people who see a funny or cute moment in a clip and get sucked into the rabbit hole. It's so useful, vtubers would genuinely benefit from hiring a clipper if people didn't automatically do it already.
In this case, a clipper's competition stole a part of their videos which is their own original content and makes them stand out from their peers, with the intent to make competing content. It's actively hurting their interest, so of-fucking-course they're going to use the copyright system. They'd be stupid not to.
