can't speak for how it is in the mid west but here in the south the closest gun range is two hours away and you'd have to pack up all the guns and ammo you want to bring which could be hundreds of pounds of equipment and then you have to deal with the heat and dumb "etiquette" around other people, it's just an all day affair and I'd rather just stay at home and play vidja

I don't think that is weak finger so much as being scared of the noise. I did that my first time shooting a real gun where you feel like the trigger is heavy but its because you are trying not to pull the trigger. when you get used to it it stops being an issue
