A glimpse of the future for Niji EN

No.69853976 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Niji EN seems to be following the exact same trajectory as Bon Appetit

>the bon appetit test kitchen was a channel about food and cooking, based in their office in NYC
>almost a video everyday, many getting tens of millions of views
>a large cast who would make cameos or join collabs, often called the BA extended universe
>adopted a "we're all family" image, portrayed talent as a group of friends
>big following among young liberals because of diversity

then in 2020...

>BA tried to show solidarity with BLM protests
>grudgeposter digs up photo of the editor pulling a trudeau
>talent and outsiders use this opportunity to dump all their grievances
>workplace outed as a toxic cesspool, with many talent openly hating each other. Family image shattered
>clear favoritism from management, some talents got paid tens of thousands of dollars per video, some were paid a couple hundred bucks or not at all
>several talents outed as abusive managers
>management tries to double down, and then apologize, but the damage was done
>leftist normies unsub en masse
>channel goes on hiatus

afterwards...

>most of the core talent negotiate exits from the company
>channel relaunches with a new wave of DEI talents, nobody cares
>old talents remaining in the company continue with the same content. Decent numbers, but no prospect of growth
>channel abandons all "fun group" pretense, mainly goes back to soulless 2010s-era content and SEO-baiting
>departed talents all launch their individual youtube channels to less than a third of the views, but take home way more money
>brand loses all mainstream relevance, just seen as a temporary side gig to boost people's profile

Niji EN built itself around the happy family fantansy, and going mask-off on being a ruthless corp killed all their chances at future growth and cultural penetration
Sisters aren't helping with their smear campaign, either. It just makes people associate niji EN with toxicity
Nina, Mysta, Selen and soon Pomu all having more success outside of the company will slowly bleed out remaining talent
New debuts will all be the most cynical leeches imaginable, only planning to stay for the minimum duration to boost their PLs. Nothing but Kyos from now on.

Unless Riku dissolves the branch, EN won't collapse (it might even stay #2 in NA), but it will never grow from where it is now. They might never regain the lost subs from the last month
