>>70119784>you can always leaveThis comment from Vox especially infuriated me because it's technically true but also bullshit because breaking contract is a whole fucking mess.
First, you're very likely to incur financial penalties based on the profit they expected to extract from you during the contract period. This will probably need to be negotiated through your lawyer who will bill you no less than $500 just to sign the paper, to say nothing about the costs of negotiating the terms of your release that they'll need to be involved in. Be prepared for a $2000-$3000 legal bill if release goes relatively smoothly, but if there are a lot of issues, 10k in legal bills aren't unreasonable. This is in addition to whatever penalties you'll be on the hook for.
Finally, vTubing corpos in general and Anycolor in particular seems to be extreme about non-compete clauses which means you can't make money doing anything related to streaming for a period of time. Given this is the only skill most of these people have, the remaining options are unskilled trash work like their local grocery store or fast food joint.
So yeah Vox, maybe you CAN leave any time, but is it actually viable? And maybe you managed to negotiate favorable release terms during the hiring process but do you really think everyone else did? It's all really fucking unlikely.
