I had it once but I'm now 30 and while I recognize the girl was great for a bunch of reasons, you have to be pretty obsessed to care about it after not seeing them because if they actually cared about you, even the slightest bit, you would have had something. The fact it never happened means it's a waste of time and you should just look at other options.
Oneitis was a HS issue. As an adult it was just a self esteem thing, especially since my job turned out to be shit and now I'm stuck living with my parents. I don't like me and would think less of any girl who does.
