Mafumafu's "A-chan" Discord message was the trigger. It meant the kayfabe was broken and that the lid was off Uruha Rushia's menhera GFE. This in turn meant the endangerment of the multi-million yen superchats (money, attention) she had gotten so used to.
It didn't matter that Holo actually backed her and asked for some sympathy and understanding from fans. In order to control the narrative, Mikey contacted drama-tuber Korekore - who was not her friend - to tell the story she wanted to tell. This blew up in her face, pissed off her gen-mates, violated her NDA with Holo, and wound up getting her fired.
Holo's management at the time wasn't great, but they did handle the situation properly and with discretion.
