People are just more likely to think a piece of art/music is better if it comes from a youtuber they like. It’s not just a phenomenon with vtubers. Just look at the youtubers ricegum and dream. They release horrible music all the time, but it tops the charts because people feel a parasocial attachment to the artist. Their minds basically trick themselves into thinking it’s good. Or maybe they just don’t know what good music sounds like.
Either way, it’s ingrained into our psychology to like music made by people we love. And it’s also part of our psychology to attack those who insult the people we love. So constantly posting about how “Mori’s music is bad!!” is a waste of time

EN is boring and uninspired. Niji EN more so. Vshoujo is the opposite extreme, with no tact or restraint. There is no healthy middle ground because that would require being genuinely funny, something women struggle with.

Chubas who have real passion and energy for niche hobbies and interests probably won't even get hired due to not being marketable enough, and edgy black humorists will be avoided like the plague.

Even if there were good chubas, the market's so saturated and brand inertia so out of control that it's hard to even sort through and discover worthwhile indies. How do I even go about searching for en vtubers who play games I like when there's never any search results? Heck, most vtubers just seem like carbon copies of one another who produce variations of the exact same content. The lack of content diversity means that if you don't like most en vtubers you probably won't like any.

Where as jp vtubers have a variety of games and interests, the en market is so homogenized it's arguably worth abandoning completely. Why even be an anime character if you don't unironically like anime or have niche interests that'll be reflected in yiur game choice? For what purpose do you even exist? Just to be another face in the crowd?
