Most of the people listed in this thread do a piss poor job at min/maxing their potential profits.

Hard to say they are only in it for the money when most have backed away from doing things that can easily net them more money. This can be more yabai content like ASMR, gfe or gay/yuri baiting or doing super-chat streams to incentivize more supers, collabing with bigger fish but not other genders or chasing current gaming trends.

Some of the people listed could be making much bigger bank by doing more of these things but don't. If they were actually greedy, they'd be hitting all of the above and more.

She still regularly outperforms far larger Vtubers in terms of Superchats. Keep in mind that this doesn't even include the fact that she's getting 10000s of Yen on Twitcast per stream and that's a platform where she streams nearly every day, sometimes pulling multiple streams a day.
She was also frequently complaining about her donations dropping back in September and October after the male collab, not just the amount but also being annoyed that the frequency had dropped to.

I think Mikeneko is a good example of that
She's on record several times for saying that she doesn't consider her Twitcast streams to be proper streams despite the fact that she's earning hundreds of thousand of yen per stream. Even though she's barely streaming on YouTube, she's averaging at least one Twitcast stream a day.
When you realise she needs money for her lawsuits, it all starts to make a lot of sense as to why she's doing a lot of streams that even she admits are low effort.
Most of her remaining fans aren't even gachikoi but they do enable this sort of behavior
