Anykara isn't any better. Have you seen Nijisanji's recent JP debuts? They're stiff as fuck, they can't look up/down or to the side (at least Aruran can do that now) and they have awful tracking. They had their Live2D done 2+ years ago and the company was too fucking lazy to update the models with recent 2.0 tech and left them in this sorry state because they knew people would watch them anyway based on brand recognition.

Lauren’s rigging is pretty bad in itself (even for the company’s standards) but the tracking problems in particular seem to be due to something on his own end. They don’t move to the sides because they don’t have 2.0 yet. Anyway I’d rather have a stiff model that looks decent than one that has more range but completely ruins the art

I'm pretty sure the rhombus rigger and the other 1-2 incompetent riggers are only hired for nepotism reasons because they started doing work for Cover in its old days, or they're best buddies with Yagoo or so other higher-up. Temma's is definitely a huge improvement over his old, stiff as hell rig but the mouth movement is still weird as hell (mostly due to the lack of teeth whenever he opens his mouth). Aruran's is just plain weird no matter how you look at it.
In related news, according to Oga, his 2.0 reveal is slated for either the 31st or August 1 alongside Roberu's and Shien's. I'm curious to see how they'll improve (or god forbid, worsen) the rigs especially considering both 3rd gen members already had good 1.0 riggers (Oga got Naname, Shien got Jujube)

What, no, you'd just add more vertices to the mesh. You can add as much detail as you need too, it's not like it's arbitrarily deforming it between the keyforms. If you tried to just rotate any face without considering the structure it'd look like their face was rolling around on a ball.

Honestly Rariemonn's rigging is all over the place. On one hand, you have Korone's current rig which is already pretty alright. On the other, there's Temma 1.0 and IRyS (although Redjuice's artstyle probably also contributes to why IRyS' rig looks so weird)
Marine eventually got handed over to tou_ilie for 2.0 though which explains why her model's eye and mouth tracking/movement are really good

this is a retarded take because all it needs is Redjuice providing the rigger examples of what the model looks like looking left, right, up down, and then just deforming the in-betweens. same with Aruran's.

instead, there was no reference, so the rigger just did what they thought was good enough with deformations and now we have shit like Aru's floating nose because riggers aren't skilled at art or perspectives

Roberu accidentally gave away a surprise with his 2.0 during his GTA stream. She's a pushover alright, if something happens where she could easily get it fixed by talking to someone, she won't do it cause of anxiety and fear of causing trouble for people. She said on stream one time that her Mcdonalds order got fucked up and was missing a bunch of stuff and she could have went back and asked for those missing items but decided not to, yet she paid full price for all of it, if something as harmless as wanting her food order corrected was too much trouble for her, then getting her company to have her new model properly fixed would definitely be an impossible task. I believe why her cat girl outfit only had it's ears fixed and the tiny hole in her chest patched up was because of the fan outrage and harassment towards her shitty rigger, where he stopped tweeting for a week just to fix a 10 minute rigging job.

Looking at the screenshots it makes me think the main issue here is that the riggers are probably not artists themselves.
Anyone that knows how to draw will know that's not how noses work at a 3/4 profile and would do a better work.
